If you had the power to choose one word that defined the vision you hold for the future of your community, what would it be?
Each community is asked to select, online, through a nomination and popular vote process, the ONE WORD that the community aspires to…a word that elevates community thought and spirit…not a word that describes where or what the community currently is. This is a vision / affirmation project. The nomination process is inclusive: anyone in a community who wants to participate can.
What will always be sought by the project is that one word that marries the separate but common visions held by individual members of the community and, ultimately, makes that community unique…
The Svelata Foundation believes in humanity and that members of a community share a bond, a common thread among them…consciously or subconsciously… and that there exists in individuals a desire to participate in their community in a personal way. By planting seeds of inspiration among a few in a community, enthusiasm and interest in being a part of the project will organically develop and expand throughout.

My word would be love. Love looks like my grandmother, my children, my yard, my cats, my wonderful man, my friends, my family, my enemies, my God. Love looks like yellow sunshine, blue oceans, green meadows, pink flowers, white fluffy clouds, and majestic oak trees. Love looks like a humble cottage, a lonely Texas highway, a single figure walking along an abandoned trail, a group of children playing in a water sprinkler, a Savior stretching out His arms over us. Love looks like me. Love looks like you. Love is, was and ever shall be. God is love. God was, is and ever shall be. Love is teaching a baby to walk. Love is changing a diaper. Love is helping a child with math. Love is preparing a meal to feed your family (your own or the family of man). Love gives. Love receives. Love is a song. Love is the music our life is set to. Love is a soundtrack ever playing in the background of our life. Love never ends.
